Where can I park?
The Badminton Retreat site has a private secure parking area so you will be able to park close by to your tent.
When arriving at Badminton, please show your Badminton Retreat Season Admission Badges and Car Passes to the parking stewards who will direct you to The Retreat.
Please note – to park at The Retreat car park you will need a Badminton Retreat Season Badge for each person and a Badminton Retreat Car Pass for each car.
Badminton Retreat Season Admission passes and car park passes will be available to purchase through our website in January.
N.B. Badminton Retreat Season Admission Badges and Car Passes will be sent out from mid April in advance of the event.
Do I need a Badminton Retreat Season Admission or Car Pass?
As The Badminton Retreat is within the Badminton Estate grounds and event area, a Badminton Retreat Season Admission Badge and Car Pass is required in addition to your glamping accommodation. The Badminton Retreat Car Pass will allow you to park in our onsite car park. These should be purchased though our website and will be available in January.
Please note that if you are an Official, Owner, Exhibitor etc. and will already be in possession of a Badminton Car Pass and Admission then you will not need to purchase this additional Pass to allow entrance to the Badminton Retreat Car Parking area.
N.B. Badminton Retreat Season Admission Badges and Car parking passes will be sent out from mid April in advance of the event.
Where is my accommodation at ‘The Retreat?’
You will be shown to your accommodation and facilities when checking into reception on site. Porters will guide you and can help with carrying your luggage.
Your accommodation will be allocated on booking and will be reserved for you no matter when you arrive at Huntsmans Close.
How can I pay for my booking?
All bookings and payments must be made through our website shop. We accepts card payments.
If split payment option is selected 50% payment is required on initial booking, and the 50% balance will be due by 1st March 2025. If full payment option is selected full payment is required on booking.
How is my booking confirmed?
We will email you a booking confirmation and a booking reference number. Please bring this with you when you check in. Please check your junk mail and spam and contact us if you cannot find your confirmation.
Can I pay a deposit for the booking?
Depending on the payment option selected we require either 50% on booking with the balance due by 1st March 2025, or full payment at the time of booking. Please note, no refund will be given on placed orders that are cancelled by the Client after the 1st of December 2024. If the Company cancel your order due to insufficient demand overall for the accommodation, the amount paid will be refunded in full.
What facilities are available?
We have a fantastic on site catering team who will produce a great selection of locally produced food and drinks. The restaurant will be serving breakfast through to traditional cream teas and a supper menu.
A licensed bar serving hot and cold drinks, chill out/sitting areas with fire pits. The bar will have large screens featuring live action, scores and interviews so you can keep up to date even when away from the action.
We have top of the range and very smart toilets and showers. We also provide a pamper room which will include hairdryers and straighteners, and phone charging equipment for exclusive use by The Retreat guests. A VIP lounge and The Retreat Spa for guests only.
Our super comfy Retreat buggy will transport you to and from the shopping village. Sit back and enjoy the ride!
Can I bring my dog to the site?
Well behaved dogs are allowed only by prior arrangement by email. Please contact us in advance when booking your accommodation if you would like to bring your dog with you to The Retreat.
Dogs must be on a lead at all times and all dog poo to be disposed of in provided bins by their owners. Dogs should not be left unattended in tents or cars.
Do I require Sunday Grandstand tickets?
Yes, if you wish to watch the show jumping and prize giving on Sunday, you need to purchase Sunday Grandstand tickets from the Badminton Box Office.
When can I check in/check out?
The Retreat gates will be open for guests from midday on Tuesday 6th May until 11am on Monday 12th May.
The reception will be open between the hours of 8am and 11pm for check in. In exceptional circumstances on receipt of your booking confirmation security can guide you to your accommodation after this time and you can check in the next morning.
Please let us know if you are likely to arrive after 11pm. To speed up check in please have your booking confirmation ready.
Please vacate the site by 11am on Monday the 12th May.
How can I get in and out of event grounds?
You will need to purchase Badminton Retreat Season Passes and Badminton Retreat Car Park Passes at the time of booking your glamping accommodation. Please ensure you select the correct number of Badminton Retreat Season Passes and Car Park Passes. One Badminton Retreat Season Admission Pass is required per guest over 12 years of age and each vehicle must have a Badminton Retreat Car Pass.
You must wear your Badminton Retreat Season Admission Pass throughout your stay and display the Badminton Retreat Season Car Park Pass in your vehicle windscreen.
What security is available?
The Retreat will be secured with a perimeter fence with security guards on the gate. However we would ask you not to leave any cash or valuables in vehicles, tents or structures when sleeping or unattended.
Can I bring my children or baby?
Children and babies are more than welcome.
Infants under 4 are free, please ensure you bring a travel cot and bedding as these are not provided.
Do you have disabled facilities?
We do offer disabled facilities including loos and showers. Please let us know of any disabilities so we can provide you with the most suitable accommodation and position on site for your needs.
What should I bring to ‘The Retreat?’
- Your ‘Retreat’ Booking confirmation and your Admission passes and car park ticket.
- Money and cards.
- Wellies, waterproofs and sturdy boots just in case!
- Spare clothes as well as a warm jumper.
- Any medication and toiletries (medical info if you have any allergies or conditions).
- Sun hat and sun tan lotion.
What should I not bring to ‘The Retreat?’
- Our luxury accommodation and facilities will hopefully allow you to carry less so you will have more room in the car for your shopping purchases!
- Please don’t bring additional tents or gazebos our accommodation is spacious and we offer a great sitting and dining area as well as outside sitting areas that can be used.
- Camera, recorder and video equipment for anything other than personal use are not allowed. Flying or filming with unmanned Aerial vehicles will not be tolerated.
- No sound systems, personal generators, sky lanterns or kites, fireworks, bangers, laser pens or equipment, wax flares, barbeques or camp fires are allowed on site.
- Please only bring food and drink for personal consumption, if you run out or wish to purchase anything we have a catering service that offers a range of food and drink.
- Please don’t bring glass bottles, drugs or dangerous substances on site.
- You may be searched at the entrance or on-site and illegal or offensive items confiscated. If you are suspected of carrying out illegal or offensive activities or causing a nuisance to other guests you will be evicted.
Can I have a fire or barbecue?
For fire safety we don’t allow barbecues or camp fires apart from the communal fire pits which are managed by our staff with the appropriate fire safety equipment.
Can I bring a kettle/ fridge/ stove?
Power supply in our accommodation is only suitable for charging devises and the heating we provide. No additional electrical appliances can be used.
Can I camp next to my friends?
If given enough notice we will do our best to put you on a pitch next to your friends so you get a great spot where you can camp together.
What we do to be environmentally friendly?
We do our best to use local suppliers for our equipment as well as sourcing local produced goods whenever possible. This allows us to lower our carbon footprint as well as support the local economy.
We make sure our impact on the site is minimal. We like to leave the site as we found it and we encourage those who stay with us to do the same.
We do our best to recycle all waste whenever possible.
Can I take any items home with me?
All equipment, structures and contents are owned or rented by ‘The Badminton Retreat’ and should be left for us to pack away upon your departure.
